Lakeview Creative Arts Competitive Dance Team

Guidelines for Students and Parents
About our Dance Company:

Lakeview Creative Arts Competitive Dance Team is a NATIONALLY AWARD WINNING competitive team that participates in both Regional and National Competitions throughout the year.   Typically, our team does 3 mandatory competitions from January to May, with 1 to 2 optional competitions.  We also participate in 2 mandatory conventions, where dancers take class throughout a weekend from dance educators from all over the world.

Many factors are taken into account when placing a competition member in a specific company group. Maturity, focus, behavior and ability are just a few things considered. We take company members as young as 4 years old.

How to Become a Member:

  • Eligible candidates include anyone with a positive attitude who is energetic, driven, and committed with a passion for performing and ongoing improvement.
  • We hold auditions for our company members on Friday, July 14th and Monday, July 24th at 5:00pm, and placement in dances is selected by extensive evaluation for more all candidates.
  • Specified fall classes are listed below. You may CLICK HERE to register for classes or click the ‘Register Online for Dance’ link above.
  • If selected as Lakeview Creative Arts Competition Team member, you will be required to attend an intensive for company members only, which will take place from the week of July 24-28 and July 31-August 4.  Times for each day will vary, but most will be in the evening.  Company members will learn choreography for group numbers at this time as well as be evaluated for placement in trios, duets, and solos.  If you are unable to make all days of the intensive, please email jessica@lakeviewcreativearts.com BEFORE the intensive begins.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Students are placed on the team first and foremost by ABILITY and NOT AGE or YEARS OF DANCING. We are first and foremost a team.  Each student’s participation in groups, trios, duets, and solos are at the sole discretion of Mrs. Jessica.  This applies to every student whether the student has danced for 6 minutes or 6 years.
  • There is a significant amount of time and financial commitment that will be expected from all members. It is important that all parties understand the expectations before making a commitment to this team.
  • Members must remain a “Member in Good Standing” as designated by the guidelines provided at the Company meeting to be offered a future position on the team.
